Kolkata, 03 November: A jawan have been killed and nine are injured after militants ambushed an Assam Rifles convoy at Wakka at Longding district in Arunachal Pradesh.

The attack took place around 01.30 pm today when an Assam Rifles team were travelling in a Mahindra Bolero SUV and a Tata 407 mini truck. One of the nine injured is an officer, rest eight are soldiers. They have been rushed to the military hospital at Dinjan in Dibrurah in Assam.

Assam Rifles has since launched a search operation to track down the militants who carried out the ambush. The identity of the deceased and the injured are yet to be known.
