Bolpur: AFTER an RSP MLA last week, now a Congress MLA has been robbed on railway premises.
As soon as he boarded an air-conditioned reserved coach, Rashid discovered that his android mobile phone had been stolen. The last time he had used the mobile was at Rampurhat station minutes before boarding the train.
On discovering this, the Congress MLA called up his family members from the mobile phone of a co-passenger and asked them about the theft of his mobile. His family subsequently lodged a complaint at the Government Railway Police station at Rampurhat.
On 29 November night, Balurghat RSP MLA and former minister Biswanath Chowdhury was robbed of his saddlebag while travelling by Gour Express from Balurghat to Sealdah. Police are yet to recover Chowdhury’s stolen items that now another MLA has been robbed on railway premises. The latest victim, MLA Rashid said that the incident betrays the lax security and vigilance in trains and stations.
