Siliguri: A 20-member Indian Air Force team has set out on a Trans-Himalayan bike expedition from Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO) to Kibithu in Arunachal Pradesh.

DBO is world’s highest airfield located in Ladakh and its road distance to Arunachal Pradesh is approximately 4,500 km. The expedition is part of the 85th Air Force Day celebrations and aims to promote green living in the country to curb global warming.

The team led by wing commander S Sarathchandra reached Bagdogra near Siliguri on 20 September. Today it was flagged off for onward journey by group captain RC Pathak, the station commander of Bagdogra Air Force Station.
