Kolkata: A village boy hailing from Bishnupur in Bankura district has topped the West Bengal High Madrasha exam this year.
The results of the High Madrasah examination were announced today on the 51-day since the last day of the exam. In all, 64,974 students had appeared for the High Madrasah exam this year.
Out of them, 82.04 per cent students have passed the exam. In case of Alim, the pass percentage stands at 82.67; in case of Fazil, the pass percentage is 86.88.
The boy who has topped in the state is Abu Bakkar Dalal, who hails from Marargram village under Bishnupur in Bankura. He appeared in the exam from the Fullfura Fateh Senior Madrasah.
Examinees from Malda in north Bengal have snatched as many as four slots among the top 10 rank holders. They include Mehbooba Yasmin of Gandhitola High Madrasha at Kaliachak, who has secured the second rank.
Fahad Hussain of Ratua Bhagwanpur High Madrasah and Muskan Khatun of Kaliachak Achintala High Madrasha have jointly secured the fourth position. They share the rank with Syed Shanu Ali of Gimageria Welfare High Madrasa at Kanthi in East Midnapore.
Another student from Malda, Mehbooba Siddiqui of Ratua Bortola Adarsha High Madrasha has bagged the eighth position. Mohammad Yousuf of Gimageria Welfare High Madrasa at Kanthi has secured the ninth position.
