Barasat: Yet another accident at Barrackpore caused by a reckless bus and yet another untimely death!

Barely 10 days since a middle-aged woman was mowed dead by a bus at Barrackpore’s Chiriamore, a five-year-old girl today killed by another bus some 5-km away at Debpukur.

Like other days, Anu Das (30) was taking her daughter Manimala to a local nursery school on a bicycle. As she was cycling through Debpukur bus stop, a speeding private bus of Barasat-Kamalpur route dashed the cycle from behind.

The mother-daughter duo was flung onto the road. Unable withstand this, the little girl bled to death on the spot; her mother was recused by people of the area and was rushed to a nearby hospital in an injured state.

Angry over the death of the girl, people vandalised the killer bus. They were about to target the driver that a team from Titagarh police station arrived just in time and arrested him away. Police have booked him for murder.

With one after another common citizen falling victim to reckless vehicles, a strong resentment is growing among the people of Barrackpore over lack of policing on the road, especially during the morning and afternoon school hours.
