Kolkata: West Bengal Central School Service Commission (SSC) has got a new chairperson.
Saumitra Sarkar, the principal of Jaypur Panchanan Roy College in Howrah, has been posted as the new chairperson.
He has succeeded Sharmila Mitra, the principal of Behala College in Kolkata, who was made the SSC chairperson in July last year.
Sarkar assumed office as the new chairperson of SSC on Wednesday. “I have been involved with the SSC in various capacities for almost a decade. I shall try to give my best as its chairperson now,” he said.
The SSC is responsible for recruiting teachers and staff in Bengal government aided schools in all over the state. Its office is located at Salt Lake in Kolkata.
