Kolkata: West Bengal Central School Service Commission (SSC) has extended the validity of those candidates who passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for upper primary section in 2011.
Issuing a notification, SSC today said that the certificate of TET 2011 qualified candidates will be valid till the recruitment body is able to complete the State Level Selection Test Phase-I. Earlier, the validity of the certificate was fixed to 31 March.
It may be noted that a vast number of aspirants who had qualified TET in 2011 are yet to get appointed as teachers due to cases pending against irregularities in the process and for other issues.
CPI-M’s wings SFI-DYFI organised a protest march to SSC office at Salt Lake on 22 March demanding that either such candidates be appointed before their TET certificate expires or, the validity of the certificate should be extended.
