Siliguri, 06 February: TRAIN services were disrupted for a few hours following a bomb scare at Alipurduar Court Railway station on Saturday afternoon.

Some passengers noticed an unclaimed briefcase lying on the platform number 1.  This created panic among the passengers, after which railway authorities were informed.

Immediately, the platform was evacuated by the personnel of the Railway Police Force (RPF). A bomb disposal squad and dog squad were called in.

The bomb squad personnel opened the briefcase and found some papers inside it. It has seized it for further investigation, as the police are yet to trace the owner of the briefcase.

Following the bomb scare, train services were disrupted for a few hours. Dinhata-Siliguri DMU train was stopped a few meters outside the railway station.

Once the bomb squad team declared the station safe, passengers were allowed in, and the train services resumed.
