Hooghly: A teenage boy has been beaten to death in Hooghly district allegedly because he morphed a photograph of the wife of his employer.
The incident has taken place at Jirat under Balagarh police station jurisdiction. The victim boy has been identified as Prasen Mistry (14). Mistry used to work in a shop owned by Bapi Biswas. The shop located at Jirat bus stand area deals in computer printouts and photo printing.
On 29 June, Biswas and his friends came looking for Mistry at his house and told his family that the boy has morphed a photograph of Biswas’ wife that was saved in a computer in the shop. The family told that Mistry was not home.
After this, Mistry was found dead near Jirat railway station on 3 July. Prior to this, some people had reportedly seen him being thrashed by Biswas and his three friends. This made the family lodge an FIR against Biswas and his three friends Gupi Biswas, Jhantu Biswas, and Raja Das accusing them of having murdered Mistry.
Even before the police could act, residents of the area today nabbed the quartet and were about to thrash them that a team from Balagarh police station arrived. Cops hid them in a local club before taking them to the police station. The angry people, on the other hand, vandalised the shop of accused Biswas.
