Kolkata: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will visit the Communist China in June at the invitation of several business chambers based there.
According sources in the state secretariat Nabanna, the Centre has given a green signal for Banerjee’s visit to China, which is tentatively scheduled for late June.
Along with Banerjee, a high-powered business delegation will also go to China. The Chief Minister and her aides will particularly visit Beijing and Yunnan province so to attract investment to Bengal.
Last year June, the Chief Minister had to call off her proposed trip to China for want of a clearance from the Centre. The Centre had denied the permission in view of India’s tension with China over Dokala.
