Kalyani: Two youths, one of them a student of class XI, have been found murdered at Kalyani in Nadia district in the same locality where they lived.
The deceased have been identified as Deepankar Ghatak and Sushanta Mondal. Ghatak was a class XI student at Kalyani Shikshayatan School; Mondal a mason. They were residents of Vidyasagar Colony and Rabindranath Colony at Ward 1 of Kalyani town, respectively.
Their families have told police that they went out of their respective residences on Wednesday night after someone called them on the mobile phone. After this, none of the youths returned home in the night and the families could not launch a search due to intense rain.
Today early morning residents of Vidyasagar Colony spotted the dead bodies of Ghatak and Mondal lying by the road. There were multiple injury marks on their bodies indicating that the two were murdered with lethal weapons. A motorcycle was lying abandoned nearby.
On being informed cops from Kalyani police station came and sent the dead bodies for post-mortem. Using the abandoned motorcycle as a clue, which has now been confiscated, police are trying to identify the killers of the two youths.
