Siliguri: The police in Darjeeling have arrested two drug peddlers allegedly involved in selling narcotics to school and college students.

The arrests were made today from near the Darjeeling Government High School and from the Love Road in the Hill town.

Soumyajit Roy, inspector-in-charge of Darjeeling Sadar police station, said that acting on a tip-off a plain-cloth police team netted James Chhetri from the school. On quizzing him, his aide Sailendra Gurung was the netted from Love Road.

In their 20’s, both are residents of Darjeeling town and are believed to be involved in narcotics racket for the past few years.

Roy said that police have been able to identify the kingpins behind the two arrested peddlers and are hopeful that those will also be netted soon.
