Kolkata: Lt Gen MM Naravane, the general officer commanding in chief of the Army’s Eastern Command, called on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at Bengal state secretariat Nabanna today 15 July.

During the meeting that started at 3.30 pm, the eastern army commander discussed various security-related issues with the Chief Minister that concerns Bengal.

Lt Gen Naravane, while apprising Banerjee on the security-related works being carried by the Army in the region, has assured her of assistance whenever there is a need.

An official statement from the Army states that the Bengal CM has emphasised on working jointly on various endeavours aimed at the nation’s welfare.

She has assured the Army of all possible cooperation from the state government.
