Kolkata: AN upscale store of lifestyle and home furnishing products at New Town in Kolkata is likely to be shut in the next few days as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has completed the process of attaching the 80,000 square feet building in which the store is housed.

The building, located in Axis Mall at New Town’s Action Area 1C, belongs to Mehul Choksi, who is an accused in the Rs 11,400-crore Punjab National Bank Scam. ED had initiated the process of attaching the property earlier this month.

As a result of the attachment processing getting complete, all the establishments housed in Choksi’s property will be shut down soon, ED sources said today. These include the Lifestyle Home Centre store owned by the Landmark Group.

The store had opened in the building in 2016 after Landmark Group leased the property from Choksi’s company. ED sources said that the store management has already been asked to relocate their inventory at the earliest.

Failing this, the building will be sealed in the next few days along with the stocks that Lifestyle Home Centre has in its store.
