According to police deceased Punam Basfor, 19, was into a relationship with neighbourhood youth Kamalesh Mondal. But she broke up the affair a few months ago and was not seeing them since then.
Recently, Punam’s family arranged her marriage with a man from Chinsurah in Hooghly. The marriage was scheduled for coming December.
