Kolkata / Siliguri: DENGUE and undiagnosed fever continue to wreak havoc in Bengal with the death of a youth in Kolkata and of two women in North 24-Parganas.

Also, the daughter of a state minister has been hospitalised with fever betraying the symptoms of dengue.

Ripon Dhali, 35, of Dr AK Pal Road at Behala in south Kolkata passed away at a private nursing home early today. Dhali was suffering from dengue for the past four days.

At Baduria in North 24-Parganas, two women named Renuka Mondal and Ferdousi Bibi have died after suffering from fever for the past one week. The fever that they were suffering from remained undiagnosed.

The deaths come at a time when the daughter of north Bengal development department minister Rabindranath Ghosh has been hospitalised in Cooch Behar on being afflicted by fever.

Shampa Ghosh has been suffering from fever for the past few days and was being treated at the minister’s residence in Cooch Behar town. But as her condition deteriorated, she was admitted to a private nursing home at Madanmohan Bari area in the town.

Neither the minister nor the nursing home is disclosing much about his daughter’s fever. Sources, however, said that she is betraying all the symptoms of dengue.
