Siliguri, 06 December:  AT least two persons have been injured following the derailment of the 13248 Patna – Guwahati Capital Express near Samuktala Road station in north Bengal.

The engine and two coaches of the train derailed around 09.05 pm tonight. The site of the accident is about 22 km from the Alipurduar rail division headquarters.

An accident relief train has already reached the site from Alipurduar and so has senior railway officials, including Alipurduar divisional railway manager Sanjeev Kishor. The two injured have been admitted to the Alipurduar Railway Hospital and their injury is grievous in nature.

Northeast Frontier Railway chief spokesperson Pranav Jyoti Sharma said that of the two coaches that have derailed include a seating-cum-luggage rake (SLR) and a general second class coach.
