Kolkata, 28 September: CALCUTTA High Court has postponed the hearing into civic police volunteer recruitment case.

The move comes after the state government urged the division bench of Justice Nishitha Mhatre and Justice Tapabrata Chakraborty to defer the hearing.

The state government had moved an appeal in the division bench challenging a single bench order dated 20 May wherein the services of near 1.30 lakh civic volunteers have been terminated with effect from 01 January next year over anomalies in the recruitment process.

The division bench had fixed today as the day to dispose of the case. But with the hearing been postponed now, the case would be heard by the division bench on 17 November.
