Kolkata, 17 September: JAGMOHAN Dalmiya, president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been admitted in a critical condition to a private hospital in Kolkata on Thursday night. He complained of chest pain and uneasiness.
Dalmiya was rushed to B M Birla Heart Research Centre in Alipore and has been kept under observation in an intensive care unit. The hospital has formed a five-member medical board to monitor his health.
The 75 years old veteran cricket administrator has been ailing since the past few months. This confined him to Kolkata and compelling the BCCI to hold most of the crucial meetings here in the city.
Former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly, Board treasurer Biswarup Dey, West Bengal ministers Firhad Hakim and Arup Biswas have rushed to the hospital along with several office bearers of the Cricket Association of Bengal.
Also present in the hospital are Dalmiya’s wife Chandralekha, daughter Baishali and son Abhishek.
