Kolkata: Police in Kolkata have arrested a suspected drugs smuggling kingpin who allegedly induct unemployed youths in his racket by promising them a permanent job.
Muhammad Murselin was netted after Wednesday midnight by a plain-cloth team of Kolkata Police from Ekbalpur police station area in south Kolkata. Police found 2.19-kg charas on him.
Murselin, 32, hails from Mominpur area and investigators say that he has been involved in ganja and charas smuggling for the past few years. He used to supply these drugs to rave parties in Kolkata along with occasional supply of narcotics like heroin and brown sugar.
On the face of interrogation, Muselin told police that he used to get the supplies mostly from Nepal and press in unemployed youths from Ekbalpur and Khiderpore areas to sell the same to customers in rave parties in various nightclubs in the city.
