Kolkata, 26 August: MCC Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kolkata is sending a 15-member business delegation to Communist ruled Vietnam to explore possibilities of bilateral trade with India.
The delegation, to be led by the Chamber president Arun Sharaf, would undertake the visit from 15-20 September.
In the run-up to the scheduled visit, the Chamber is holding an interactive session today with Vietnam’s Ambassador to India, Ton Sinh Thanh, on Facilitating India-Vietnam Trade.
The trade visit in September is being organised with support from the Indian Embassy at Vietnam capital Hanoi and the Indian Consul General based in Ho Chi Minh City, the largest city in the Communist nation.
According to Mr Sharaf, during the six-day visit, they would organise two buyers sellers meet at Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in collaboration with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce & Industry. This apart, the delegation will undertake visits to factories and industrial parks to have a first-hand experience on industrial infrastructure available there.
The delegation finalised by the Chamber has representatives from sectors like asbestos, cement, textile, chemical, building material, pharmaceuticals, financial services, agriculture and real estate.
