Kolkata: THE Mayor of Kolkata and Trinamool minister Sovan Chatterjee has filed two FIRs against his estranged wife and her friend for allegedly foraying into his house with mala fide intention.
Chatterjee, who lives at Behala, has lodged both the FIRs at Parnasree police station which has jurisdiction over his residence. The first FIR was lodged by him on 19 February, the second one on 24 February.
In the FIRs, the Mayor has accused his estranged wife Ratna Chatterjee and her friend Jhuma Saha of forcibly entering his house on those two dates. They also allegedly threatened his aide with dire consequences when he tried to stop them.
It may be mentioned that the Mayor had in November last year filed a divorce suit against his wife. The suit is pending at Alipore court in the city. Meanwhile, his mother-in-law and Trinamool MLA, Kasturi Das, passed away on 23 February. [READ: Kolkata Mayor Sovan Chatterjee’s MLA mother-in-law dies]
