Kolkata, 04 May: MAMATA Banerjee government is butchering democracy in Bengal every day and is out on a mission to wipe out opposition political parties from the state, BJP national secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya said today.

The remark comes a day after Trinamool inducted into the party an adivasi couple from Naxalbari who had hosted lunch for BJP president Amit Shah on 25 April. To oppose the “poaching,” BJP today organised a protest at College Square in Kolkata. Apart from Vijayvargiya, all front ranking leaders of the BJP state unit were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Vijayvargiya said that Bengal these days was being ruled by “Mamata Banerjee and her 40 thieves” and no law other than their whims are being adhered to in the state.

“Democracy is being butchered in Bengal every day. Mamata Banerjee is out on a mission to wipe out all other political parties from the state; she wants to establish an absolute monopoly,” he said, adding that the two Naxalbari couple was “abducted” to make them join Trinamool.

Vijayvargiya asserted that Trinamool would not be able to stop BJP by resorting to such low-level of politics.

“BJP is not a party that revolves around a single personality. Our politics is for the benefit of the country and not individuals. BJP workers strive to uphold ideology, whereas Trinamool workers work to further the cause of corruption,” he said.
