Kolkata: STATE government has decided to hike the salary of para-teachers employed in state-aided schools all over Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced today.
“A decision has already been taken to hike the monthly pay of the para-teachers to Rs 10,000 (for primary) and Rs 13,000 for those teaching in upper-primary classes,” the Chief Minister announced at a core committee meeting of her party Trinamool at Nazrul Mancha in south Kolkata today.
The core committee meeting was organised by Trinamool to take stock of the preparations for upcoming panchayat polls in the state, the date for which has not been announced yet.
Banerjee also announced that those hired as data entry operators in various government establishments through private agencies will not lose job even if the government terminates the contract with the agency. “This apart, I have requested the education minister to see that part-time teachers in the colleges are given some benefits as regards remuneration, etc.”
