Kolkata: A man from Uttar Pradesh has been nabbed at Dum Dum Metro station with unaccounted for gold ornaments weighing 4.86 kg. He has been identified as Hariom Rastogi (37) of Bareilly in UP.
Rastogi had last evening turned up at Dum Dum Metro station to take a train towards New Garia. During the scanning on his baggage, a constable of the Metro Railway Police detected the huge gold ornaments and alerted her seniors.
The man was then taken to the station superintendent and was asked to produce any document to establish the ownership of the ornaments. But he failed to do so and it was then that the Metro Railway authorities handed him over to the Sinthee police station.
