Kolkata: The newly appointed Eastern Army commander, Lt Gen Anil Chauhan, has completed his maiden visit to the Panagarh Military Station in West Burdwan.

The two-day visit, on 9 and 10 September, was to assess the operational preparedness of the Military Station, which plays a crucial role in security setup in eastern India.

Lt Gen Chauhan visited the other formations located in Panagarh and was briefed by the respective commanders there. The commanding officer of the Brahmastra Corps briefed him on the operational preparedness.

He also interacted with the troops, complimented them for performance and exhorted them to continue with their efforts in the service of the country.

The Eastern Army Commander emphasised on the need for remaining ready at all times to meet the emerging security challenges.
