4G Arrives in A&N Islands After 6-yrs

    Kolkata: The Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Tuesday got its first 4G mobile telephone service after a gap of over six years since 4G was introduced in India in 2012.

    Private telecom player Airtel today announced the launch of its 4G services in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

    It is the first mobile operator to launch high-speed data services on the archipelago, situated at the south-eastern tip of India.

    Airtel has said that for now, the 4G services will be available in Port Blair only.

    The same will be gradually expanded to other parts of the Islands.
