Kolkata: BATTLING an image-dent caused by two back-to-back incidents of misbehaviour by staff to passengers, private airline IndiGo has initiated measures for a recovery.
The airline today announced that now on it will exempt the weapon handling charges to Indian sportsperson travelling for tournaments/events ~ both on domestic and international flights. The relaxation has come into effect from today itself.
This exception is applicable on carrying of firearms, air gun, and or ammunition that a concerned sportsperson intends to use in a tournament or training event.
To avail this exemption, all a sportsperson will be required to do produce a government recognised identification document for sportsman, a valid licence for the firearm and a bona fide certificate for carriage of arms and ammunition on the basis of a written document issued by the president or secretary of the sports club sponsoring him for the shooting event.
