Kolkata 3 July: THE Railway Board has asked the Kolkata-headquartered South Eastern Railway to lay special emphasis on the safety-security of passengers and on passenger amenities both in trains and at railway stations.

The full Railway Board, which is visiting Kolkata, on Monday held a high-level review meeting at SER headquarters in Garden Reach.

The meeting chaired by A K Mittal, chairman, Railway Board and ex-officio principal secretary to the Central government, was attended by SER general manager Radhey Shyam and all other principal head of departments of the railway zone.

The Board reviewed the key activities of SER networking and laid special emphasis on safety-security of passengers. It also asked SER authorities to improve passenger amenities both at railway stations and in trains besides ensuring punctual running of all trains.
