Kolkata, 20 June: SOUTH Eastern Railway (SER) has announced running three special trains between Kolkata and Puri to clear the extra rush of passengers during the ensuing Ratha Yatra.

Of the special trains, two would be plying from Santragachi station (Howrah) to Puri and one train would be plying from Shalimar station (Howrah) on designated days during the period from 25 June and 4 July.

Santragachi-Puri 08007 special train will start from Santragachi at 12.15 am midnight on 25 June and 4 July, reaching Puri at 8.25 am on the same day.  In the return direction, 08008 Puri-Santragachi special train will leave Puri at 11.35 pm on 25 June and 4 July and arrive at Santragachi at 9 am the next day.

The trains will have eight AC-3 tier and eight sleeper class coaches, and stop at Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, and Sakhi Gopal en route their destination.

Shalimar-Puri 08801 special train will originate from Shalimar at 11.55 pm on 2 July and reach Puri at 8.25 am the next day.  In the return direction, 08802 Puri-Santragachi special train will start from Puri at 11.35 pm on 3 July and arrive at Santragachi at 9 am the next day.

It will have eight general second class coaches and stop at Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road and Sakhi Gopal en route destination.
