Kolkata / Midnapore: AFTER several common citizens, money has now been siphoned off from the bank account of an MLA in Bengal!

Banasri Maity, Trinamool MLA from Kanthi North Assembly constituency in East Midnapore, has alleged that as much as Rs 3.5-lakh has vanished from her account with State Bank of India branch located in West Bengal Assembly.

Maity came to know of this after SBI sent her a text message stating that Rs 3.5-lakh from her savings account has been sent to some investment firm and only Rs 64,000 balance is left.

This is even as the Trinamool MLA says that she did not opt for any investment scheme neither within SBI network nor in any other firm. Maity at once brought the matter to the bank authorities and at their suggestion, filed a written complaint subsequently.

The bank has assured a probe into this, although they have no clue as to how come the legislator’s money was diverted to some investment firm without she giving any instruction to the branch.
