Howrah, 11 September: IN YET another broad day heist, miscreants snatched away a bag containing two lakhs rupees from a businessman in Howrah on Friday. The goons, who were armed with firearms, also injured the businessman when he tried to put up a resistance.

The incident took place around 11 am at Madhusudan Palchoudhury By-lane in Howrah, when Jaiprakash Jaiswal and his brother Omprakash were going to their factory on Bantra Road on a motorcycle. The bothers deal in iron scrap.

Jaiprakash, who had the bag containing the cash with him, was riding pillion on the bike. Two masked miscreants on a motorcycle suddenly emerged from behind and stopped their way.

One of the miscreants snatched the bag from Jaiprkash while the other remained seated on the motorcycle. When Jaiprakash tried to put up a resistance, the miscreant hit him on head with the butt of a pistol. The duo then sped away on the bike even before the businessmen could raise an alarm.

The traders later lodged an FIR at the Bantra police station in Howrah and told the police that they had withdrawn the money from a bank and nobody in their firm was aware about this.
