Kolkata, 21 December: FORMER West Bengal transport minister and Trinamool Congress leader Madan Mitra will once again face CBI interrogation in the Saradha Scam.
Mitra is now lodged at the Alipore Correctional Home after being arrested over his alleged involvement in the Saradha Scam on 12 December 2014.
Sources said that the CBI plans to cross verify some revelations made to it by the now removed Trinamool Congress general secretary Shankudeb Panda. The revelations pertain to money flow from the Saradha Group to several politicial beneficiaries via Panda’s bank accounts.
CBI counsel’s today moved a petition to the Alipore court in Kolkata seeking to interrogate Mitra in the judicial custody. The court has accepted the plea and has asked the CBI to complete the fresh interrogation by 31 December.
CBI sources said that a team would visit the Alipore Correctional Home tomorrow or the day after itself to interrogate the former minister.
