Kolkata, 01 September: KEEPING in mind the rush of passengers during the ensuing Durga Puja and Deepavali festivals, South Eastern Railway (SER) will run seven pairs of special trains between Santragachi in Howrah and New Jalpaiguri during 02 October to 13 November.
The move will especially come handy for tourists planning a holiday in Darjeeling, Gangtok, or Dooars during the festive season.
The 08047 Santragachi-New Jalpaiguri Special will start from Santragachi every Sunday at 10.25 in the morning and reach New Jalpaiguri at 10.55 in the night the same day.
In the return direction, the 08048 New Jalpaiguri – Santragachi Special will originate from New Jalpaiguri every Sunday at 11.55 in the night and reach Santragachi at 11.15 am the next day.
The Special trains will have one AC-II tier coaches, three AC-3 tier coaches, nine Sleeper Class coaches, three General Second Class coaches, and two Luggage Vans. The trains will stop at Burdwan, Rampurhat, Malda Town, Barsoi, and Kishanganj on both directions.
