Kolkata: As many as nine express trains plying to/from Howrah will remain cancelled for the better part of April due to urgent maintenance of the railway tracks and related infrastructure.

That’s not all! Three more express trains will short-terminate and five express trains will be diverted in north Bengal for the commissioning of a double line in Alipurduar railway division.

The move will not only affect people of Bengal, but passengers from the northeast will also get inconvenienced.

According to Easter Railway, the nine trains that will fully / partially remain cancelled from Howrah are:

  • 13119 Sealdah-Anand Vihar Express from 4-14 April.
  • 13120 Anand Vihar-Sealdah Express from 6-16 April.
  • 14004 New Delhi-Malda Town Express from 4-14 April.
  • 14003 Malda Town- New Delhi Express from 6-16 April.
  • 13053/13054 Howrah-Suri-Howrah Express via Sainthia from 1-30 April.
  • 13007 Howrah-Sri Ganganagar Toofan Express will remain cancelled between Howrah and Agra Cantt. From 1-15 April.
  • 13008 Sri Ganganagar-Howrah Toofan Express will remain cancelled between Agra Cantt and Howrah from 2-16 April.
  • 13049 Howrah-Amritsar Express will remain cancelled on Tuesdays on 2 and 9 April.
  • 13050 Amritsar-Howrah Express will remain cancelled on Thursdays on 4 and 11 April.

AS REGARDS NORTH BENGAL, the trains that will short-terminate and diverted are:

  • 13141/13142 Teesta Torsa Express & 13147/13148 Uttar Banga Express leaving Sealdah from 4-8 April & leaving New Jalpaiguri from 5-9 April will short terminate/originate at New Jalpaiguri.
  • 12377/12378 Padatik Express leaving Sealdah on 8 April & leaving New Jalpaiguri on 9 April will short terminate/originate at New Jalpaiguri.
  • 12517 Kolkata-Guwahati Garib Rath Express leaving Kolkata from 4-7 April will be diverted via New Jalpaiguri- Mathabhanga-New Cooch Behar.
  • 12508 Silchar-Thiruvananthapuram Express leaving Silchar on 4 April will be diverted via New Cooch Behar-Mathabhanga- New Jalpaiguri.
  • 12510 Guwahati- South Bangalore City Express leaving Guwahati on 7 and 8 April
  • will be diverted via New Cooch Behar-Mathabhanga- New Jalpaiguri
  • 15625 Deoghar-Agartala Express leaving Deoghar on 8 April will be diverted via New Jalpaiguri-Siliguri-Alipurduar-Shamuktala Road.
  • 12510 Guwahati-South Bangalore City Express leaving Guwahati on 9 April will be diverted via Shamuktala Road-Alipurduar-Siliguri-New Jalpaiguri.
