Kolkata, 13 December: STARTUPS, the new mantra in the entrepreneurship landscape of the country, will be the focus of West Bengal government’s upcoming annual business summit.
Christened Bengal Global Business Summit, the third edition of the investment gala will be underway at Milan Mela on EM Bypass in Kolkata from 20-21 January, state industries minister Amit Mitra told the Press at Nabanna today.
Mitra informed that the state government has roped in the IIM Kolkata and software industry think tank iSPIRT (Indian Software Products Industry Round Table) to ensure the participants of notable startups at the two-day summit.
The startups that the Bengal government wants to take on-board include those dealing in health, tourism, IT and software, financial services, transport, food processing etc.
“As regards the participation from foreign investors, we have got a huge response from Germany, Japan, Canda, China, and USA,” the minister said.
