Siliguri: To cut short the travel time and improve punctuality, the railways have reduced the stoppage duration of 33 trains at Guwahati station. This includes a few trains running between Kolkata/Siliguri and the northeast.
According to NF Railway, the changes in stoppage duration will come into effect from 18 June. The stoppage duration has been reduced by 5 minutes to 25 minutes depending on the particular train.
As regards Bengal, the trains whose stoppage duration has been reduced are Kanchanjunga Express which will now stop for 10 minutes at Guwahati instead on 35 minutes, Alipurduar-Silghat Town Exp will stop for 20 minutes instead of 35 minutes, Alipurduar-Lumding Intercity Exp will stop for 10 minutes instead of 15 minutes, and Avadh Lalgarh Assam Exp will stop for 15 minutes instead of 20 minutes.
