Behrampore: Bullet-ridden dead bodies of three unidentified men have been found on a paddy field at a village bordering Bangladesh in Murshidabad district.
This has happened at Sheikpara village under Raninagar police station. The villagers claim that last night they heard the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel fire bullets on cattle rustlers and that the deaths were caused by the firing.
BSF has not come out with a statement on this nor has reported to the local police station any encounter with cattle rustlers.
Police have said that they were trying to ascertain the identity the three killed and who fired the bullets on them. Cops have sent the dead bodies for post-mortem.
The villagers have said that on hearing the gunshots last night they were certain of casualties on cattle rustlers’ side. But on getting up this morning, they only found blood stains at the site from where the gunshots were coming last night.
Finally, after a nearly day-long search, three dead bodies were found in the afternoon scattered on a paddy field at nearby Kaharpara area. The area is located a little away from the Bangladesh border and the field is located at an isolated area from the village.
