Despite questioning all the nursing staff and ward boys employed in the hospital, police are yet to get a clue on the baby-lifter. Today, police brought an artist to the hospital and made him make a sketch of the suspect woman from the description of Papia Bibi and other women patients in the ward.
Peeved at the delay in tracing the new-born, his maternal uncle and other relatives from Birbhum district protested on the hospital campus. A visibly angry maternal uncle of the missing new-born threated to lob bombs on the hospital if the baby was not returned to his mother at the earliest.
Police soon rushed in and drove out the protesting relatives. On the other hand, leaders of Durgapur Trinamool women wing visited the mother at the hospital and consoled her saying that police will soon find out her son.
Ever since her new-born was stolen, Papia Bibi is in a state of shock and is weeping constantly.
