Kolkata, 25 October: THREE more people have died of dengue in Kolkata today, taking the total number of dengue deaths in the state to 38 according to state government records.
Pritam Halder of Chetla in south Kolkata, Aditya Prasad of Nager Bazar in north Kolkata, and Matiur Rehman of Barasat in North 24-Parganas died today in separate hospitals in the city.
Of them, Pritam Halder was aged only about 11 years. He was admitted to Chittaranjan Seva Sadan on 23 October. The other two were admitted to Beliaghata ID Hospital.
State health department today said that the number dengue inflicted people in the state have now crossed 19,000. State chief secretary Malay De had yesterday put the figure at 18,238 as on 23 October, while the number of deaths was 34.
