Kalyani: IN less than 24-hours, Tehatta town in Nadia district has witnessed three murders, raising concern among the people. None of the victims have been identified yet.
Today morning, dead bodies of two middle-aged men were spotted in an orchard at Tehatta’s Shyamnagar area. The throat of both the dead bodies was slit, indicating the mode of killing.
People living in the vicinity could not identify the deceased ~ one of whom was wearing a pair of lungi-shirt and the other was in shirt-trousers. Police have retrieved the dead bodies and have sent to Shaktinagar District Hospital at Krishnanagar for post-mortem.
The double murder comes in less than 24-hours of an elderly man being found murdered in another part of Tehatta at Sadhubazar. In his case too, the throat was slit.
With police failing to pinpoint the culprits in all the three murders and also failing to identify the probable motive, people of Tehatta are a worried lot now. Tehatta, it may be noted, is a town located in the proximity of Bangladesh border.
