Barasat: In yet another killing linked to the coming Panchayat polls, a Trinamool worker has been hacked to death in a village under Swarupnagar police station jurisdiction in North 24-Parganas.
The deceased has been identified as Amirul Mondal (28), who was attached to the Trinamool unit of Balti Nrityanandakati gram panchayat at Swarupnagar.
Mondal’s dead boy, with multiple sharp cut injuries, was found this morning in a field at a little distance from his residence at Nrityanandakati village. Family members said that Mondal had gone out last night to put up Trinamool posters, banners, etc. for the coming Panchayat polls and did not return home.
Trinamool North 24-Parganas district president Jyotipriya Mullick has alleged that CPI-M cadres have murdered Mondal in connivance with the BJP. This they have done in a bid to deter Trinamool from snatching the Balti Nrityanandakati GP from CPI-M in this Panchayat polls.
CPI-M district secretary Mrinal Chakraborty, however, has rubbished the charges saying that when his party has not even been able to field candidates for Balti GP, how come the party yield so much strength to kill anyone?
