Kolkata: Two teenage boys have died in an accident near Science City in Kolkata as they were riding a motorcycle without putting on the helmet.
The mishap occurred late on Wednesday night and the victims have been identified as Kalim and Warshi. Both the teenagers were residents of Topsia in the city.
Police said that the two boys were speeding down the EM Bypass when they lost control of their motorcycle and overturned. Warshi, who was riding pillion, died on the spot. Kalim was taken to the National Medical College and Hospital in a critical state. He breathed his last there.
Late night motor-biking by teenagers and youths has of late become a major cause of fatal accidents in Kolkata.
