Kolkata: AN information-technology (IT) professional has died and his colleague is hospitalised with injuries following a road accident at Salt Lake.
The accident took place around 7 am today at Nabadiganta Flyover – Sector V crossing located close to Nicco Park.
Amarnath Sharma and Sudama Jaiswal, both employed with IT giant Wipro, were on their way to the office on a motorcycle. As the motorcycle was turning on to the road to Sector V, it hit a school bus.
Both Sharma and Jaiswal fell on the road. Passers-by took the two of them to a private nursing home at Salt Lake, where Sharma was declared dead due to excessive bleeding. He was a resident of Charu Market area in south Kolkata.
Jaiswal is admitted to the same nursing home but is out of danger. He has alleged that the nursing home staff declined to admit Sharma even as he was in his senses and was bleeding profusely in the back seat of a taxi which had ferried them.
The bereaved family, however, has not lodged any complaint with police against the nursing home.
