Siliguri, 24 December: SINGER Zubeen Garg has been discharged from the Raiganj District Hospital where he was admitted last night over illness.

Garg, who is in north Bengal now, fell ill around 11.30 pm last night after performing at the annual fest at Raiganj University. His assistant, Diganta Sharma took him to the Raiganj District Hospital with the help of the hotel staff where they were lodging.

Garg was admitted to the male general ward and was administered a saline and injections to stabilise him. Doctors said that the singer’s blood pressure had dropped drastically and this caused him head spin and breathing trouble.

His aide Sharma said that Garg had been working overtime since the 22 December when he recorded 10 songs and then flew down to Bagdogra. From there they travelled to Raiganj and without sufficient rest took to the stage at Raiganj University last evening.

Though the doctors at Raiganj District Hospital discharged him today morning, they have advised him for a health check up at the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital in Siliguri before boarding a return flight to Guwahati.
